Hi {{First Name}},
If you've been thinking about applying but haven't started yet, this email is for you. The process is more straightforward than it might seem — here's exactly what you need, step by step.
The Application Checklist
-
1
Current Résumé
Highlight any work in sport, entertainment, or related business. Internships and practicums strengthen your application significantly.
-
2
Statement of Career Objectives (1–2 pages)
Describe your goals and address how the MSEM curriculum specifically helps you achieve them. This is your most important document — be specific and genuine.
-
3
Two Letters of Recommendation
At least one must be from a current or former professor. All letters are submitted through the online portal — recommenders are contacted automatically after you submit.
-
4
Official Transcripts
From every institution attended. Successful applicants generally have a 3.0+ GPA. Submit your application first, then request transcripts. Uploading unofficial copies accelerates review.
-
5
GRE / GMAT — or a Waiver Request
See the box below. Many qualified applicants skip the test entirely.
You may qualify for a GRE/GMAT waiver.
If you have an undergraduate GPA of 3.2 or above or relevant work experience in sport, entertainment, or related business, you can request a waiver. Include a brief statement under the "Academic Tests" section of your application explaining how you qualify. No test prep necessary.

International Applicants: All deadlines are 30 days earlier. TOEFL or IELTS scores are required (valid within 2 years). TOEFL Institutional Code: 5818. Students with a U.S. degree are exempt.
The MSEM admits just 30 students per year. Applying early — especially by April 1 — gives you the best chance at both admission and assistantship consideration.
