Day 21  ·  Funding Your Degree

Assistantships, fellowships & more — here's what's available to you.

Hi {{First Name}},

One of the first things I hear from strong applicants is: "I love everything about the program — but I'm worried about the cost." I hear you, and I want to be clear: there are real funding options available. Let me break them down.

Graduate Assistantships — Department of Sport & Entertainment Management

A limited number of graduate assistantships are available to MSEM students. You'll support faculty with research, teaching, or departmental projects for 10–20 hours per week, and in return:

✔ Monthly stipend provided    ✔ Out-of-state students receive in-state tuition rates

To apply: simply select "yes" when asked during the online application. No separate application required.

SPTE Fellowships

SPTE fellowships are available to admitted MSEM students and provide:

✔ In-state tuition waiver    ✔ $250 per semester scholarship    ✔ No work requirement

Ideal for students who want financial support without the time commitment of an assistantship.

MBA Fellowships — For MBA/MSEM Dual Degree Applicants

If you're applying to the MBA/MSEM dual degree, the Darla Moore School of Business offers:

✔ $250/semester tuition support    ✔ Additional merit fellowships for top candidates based on GPA and experience

Contact the Moore School for specific merit fellowship eligibility details.

The investment calculus is straightforward.

In two years, you earn a world-ranked master's degree — or two degrees with the MBA/MSEM — with significant funding support available. Graduates step into roles at professional leagues, major venues, and global entertainment companies. The degree pays for itself.

We also encourage you to reach out to the USC Office of Student Financial Aid and Scholarships for additional assistance opportunities.
